How we make it

To work in tune with nature, we believe is the only way to justify our studios work, and to be able to take pride in what we do. We strive for to inspire our customers to circular living and to appreciate our craftsmanship.

Our products are made from natural materials and fibres and are recyclable. We use materials made locally and in nearby areas as much as possible. We use environmentally friendly production methods and our ambition is to produce our products as close to where we are based as possible. This mean mainly working together with talented craftsmen, and sourcing materials, in Sweden and Estonia, France and Belgium.

OUR STARTING POINT

Making with a purpose

Our starting point is to always ask ourselves "What is relevant? Do our idea have a relevant purpose? Why should we create it? Will what we make contribute with something that is positive?"

We believe that what we choose to make and create actually is relevant. It must contribute with, not only to practically solve something, and be made in tune with nature, but also with bringing a function with its beauty, humour, idea and creativity.

Everything starts with this evaluation process and is eventually designed and drawn by Camilla’s hand, to create the function, characteristic aesthetics and rhythm and become a product, an interior or a story.

It can also mean that we make something that encourage equality, consciousness or create opinions.

IN THE MAKING

Our process

Some products, like wallpaper and fabric, is very much about creating emotions and flow, choosing the right materials and cherish the craftsmanship. Other products may be more about solving practical functions or to work with pedagogical aspects.

The construction, choice of material, color work, contrasts and dimensions are then developed to reach the final balance and match the area of use.

We work with no waste production, meaning that we use all parts of what we make and the materials we create. From the start, in our product development process, we also evaluate how to design, pack and ship what we make, to have the full picture and to reduce the stress on our planet.

Our process is also about sourcing, the best and environmentally friendly, certified materials, the best maker and partners. It´s about supporting a sustainable production chain, building a good relationship with our customers and learn from them, how they want to use our creations. To work with minimal waste, recyclable packaging, how we ship things and to not ship air, to mention some.

Fabrics

In the creation of weaves to print design we honor our traditions of craftsmanship and work with both traditional and contemporary techniques.

We make our own Interior fabric collection made of natural materials, mainly linen, and it is printed in Northern Europe by highly skilled craftsmen. Everything we do is made in tune with nature and OEKO-Tex certified.

Our interior fabrics and carpets are made for domestic use, homes and office spaces. Some of our fabrics are suitable for upholstery, some for lighter home interior use like cushions, curtains and blinds.

Linen ecology

We choose to work mainly with Linen fabric because of it´s beauty and function, but also because in terms of ecology, linen is a leading material.

Flax plants, which Linen fabric is made from, demands very little from our earth when growing. We source Linen made only from European fields, where also the best Linen craftsmen are to be found, werther it’s farmers, spinners or weavers.

Great Linen ages with grace and become more beautiful and soft by every time it´s being used.

Wallpaper

Wallpaper creates a tailored expression and instant, lovely hominess. It can be used boldly or as a foundation for other things to flourish.

Our hopes are that our wallpaper also can encourage kids (and adults) to tell stories of their own, inspired by the prints we create.

Designing prints for wallpaper is about merging aesthetics, rhythm, beauty and comfort with the tactility of paper, printing and colors.

Locally made

Our wallpaper collection is produced together with the brilliant local Swedish factory Ulricehamns Tapetfabrik.

We blend the colours by hand and the craftsmanship is present in every step of the production, proudly maneuvered by the human hand, mind and heart.

We only use water based inks and varnishes. No solvents other than plain water may be used in the factory. All the waste from the production can be recycled, surplus colors are reused in production and the energy used in the factory is climate compensated.

Pure organic wool

We make throws providing you with the most natural and soft comfort and safety. We strive for to work mainly with organic Scandinavian wool for our throws, but also Lambs wool and organic cotton for our kids blankets. All our throws and our baby blankets are made in proud collaboration with Swedish Klippan Yllefabrik, founded in 1897.

Why pure wool? It's a wonderful, sustainably clever material which ages with grace and have a natural built in heating or cooling function. Wool can be recycled and still look and feel fantastic in new products and it is naturally completely free from chemicals.

Our products for kids

Limitless imagination

Kids think outside of the box and so must we. Their limitless imagination demands our limitless commitment and an open mind.

We believe products, spaces and experiences for children are some of the most important ones in the world. From the pedagogy behind things we do, to encourage creativity and curiosity, learning by playing, the functions and design, to materials and safety. Everything about working with a children’s world is a bit different from other projects.

Our limitless imagination can often make limited production more clever than we thought it initially could be. And more successful executions and results are to be expected.

Encouraging kids

How can a pair of socks encourage a child to get dressed in the morning? Can we design clothes that support equality, like trousers that have the same brilliant mobility functions as skirts, and the other way around? And why don’t all clothes have many clever pockets for curious little ones to save collected finds in?

These are only some of the questions we ask ourselves when we create things for the most important people in our world.

Organic materials is the only sensible choice, for our kids to have a future. Thinking organically helps too.

Tools for creativity

Tools for creativity

A toy isn't just an object, it can be a tool for exploring our universe.

Stories supporting curiosity

Stories supporting curiosity

Kids play and learn and we can encourage them to discover both themselves and our world in a sympathetic way.

Equal play

Equal play

We can and should design clothes that support equality. Trousers and skirts should have the same brilliant mobility functions.
