Product & Care information

Most of our products are made of delicate natural and organic material and there may be variations in colour batches. Despite our highest ambitions we cannot affect this, and we see small differences as a proof of craftsmanship and the work made by the human hand and eye, as we mix all our colours by hand.

For textiles and wallpaper you can order a small swatch before ordering a product, to make sure you have a look and feel at colours and qualities.

We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colors, patterns, textures, images and product information texts for all our products that appear at the store. However, we cannot guarantee that your devices monitor's display of any color will be accurate.

Textiles

We choose to work mainly with Linen because of its beauty and function, but also because in terms of ecology, linen is a leading material. Flax plants demand very little from our earth when growing. We source Linen made only from European fields, where also the best Linen craftsmen are to be found, werther it’s farmers, spinners or weavers. Great Linen ages with grace and become more beautiful and softer by every time it´s being used.

All our woven fabrics are OEKO-Tex Certified and made from only natural fibres such as cotton or linen, which are more prone to shrinkage than other fibre types, especially in washing, and will shrink to some extent. For this reason we generally recommend that all linen fabrics should be dry cleaned.

Where linen and cotton fabrics are recommended as being suitable for hand washing, they may shrink up to 6%. This also concern cushion covers and all other products made from our fabrics.

Do not spot clean our fabrics, as it may cause marks on the fabric. Dry–cleaning (which, of course, is not a ‘dry’ process at all) can also cause shrinkage, although generally to a lesser extent.

Light fastness

Printed or dyed furnishing fabrics have good inherent resistance to fading in light, but all fabrics do fade eventually as the damaging UV rays in sunlight cause fading. By lining your curtains and blinds and not exposing them, your cushions or other textile products to direct sunlight, you extend their life.

Tea towels, soft baskets and some other products can be washed on a gentle cycle in machine.

You can find the detail information for every fabric and textile product under each specific product on our web.

Please note that the cushion insert is not included in the price and all online cushion orders are shipped without insert.

Wallpaper

Our wallpaper is produced together with the local Swedish factory Ulricehamns Tapetfabrik. We blend the colours by hand and the craftsmanship is present in every step of the production, proudly maneuvered by the human hand, mind and heart.

When printing our wallpaper, we only use water based inks and varnishes. No solvents other than plain water may be used in the factory. All the waste from the production can be recycled, surplus colors are reused in production and the energy used in the factory is climate compensated.

Our wallpaper is printed with surface print or screen print technique, made of Non-Woven quality.

It can be cleaned very gently with a light damp cloth, but please do not rub on spots as it may cause marks on the wallpaper surface.

Full hanging instructions are printed on the labels which are enclosed with every roll. When buying our wallpaper be sure to order enough as there can be differences in shade from batch to batch. Always state the batch number if it is necessary to order extra paper, however we cannot guarantee that we have wallpaper rolls left in stock to match your specific batch number.

How to wallpaper and what adhesive to use

Prepare your walls so they are smooth, clean, dry and free of old paper or paint. Be sure to use the correct adhesive (we recommend environmentally safe Non-woven adhesive) and wipe paste off the surface before it dries. Hang the wallpaper carefully with butt joins, taking care to match the pattern. Smooth out the paper using a brush or plastic spatula. Trim top and bottom with a sharp pair of scissors. Although wallpaper has a protective finish, it is vulnerable when still wet and can be damaged by excessive rubbing.

Porcelain

Most of our porcelain can be washed in machine and are made beautiful, natural clay with high quality In-Glace technique, but to be sure please read the detail information for each product about how to care for it. For example our teapots cannot be washed in machine. The lid is very delicate to make, even though it´s durable to use, it’s making it less durable to high temperature washing.

Pure Wool Throws

We make throws providing you with the most natural and soft comfort and safety. We strive for to work mainly with organic Scandinavian wool for our throws, but also Lamb’s wool and organic cotton for our kids’ blankets. All our throws and our baby blankets are made in proud collaboration with Swedish Klippan Yllefabrik, founded in 1897.

Pure wool is a wonderful, sustainably clever material which ages with grace and have a natural built in heating or cooling function. Wool can be recycled and still look and feel fantastic in new products and it is naturally completely free from chemicals.

Wool has the great quality of not having to be washed very often, due to its fibers and natural fat which is rejecting dirt. Simply ventilate your throw often, preferably when it´s moist outdoors, but wash it with care. It is good for our climate and for the throw. You can also put your throw in the snow and brush it carefully. To remove stains, use a damp cloth before the stain become permanent.

  • 100% Wool throws – If washing it in machine choose a gentle wool program. Choose washing powder adjusted for wool with no bleach. Centrifuge on a low cycle, maximum 800. Iron on middle temperature.

  • 100% Lamb’s wool blankets – Only Dry cleaning.

Toys

All our toys are CE-qualified and approved to reach the highest European standard of safety. We mainly work with organic cotton, linen and pure lamb’s wool, but for hygienic reasons (to make things safe, washable and manageable to dry well after laundry) we use synthetic wadding in our stuffed soft toys.
