September at Rosendal

Our September print is inspired by Rosendals Trädgård, Camilla’s favorite organic garden in her hometown Stockholm. It's an oasis, located on the quiet Island of Royal Djurgården in the middle of the city, where the harvest and floral beauty is shared with the locals.

INSPIRED BY

The autumn crop with its gorgeous cabbages and apples, wonderful fields with sunflowers in bloom, the scents and colours. The harvest turned into delicacies, like treasures to be enjoyed when the winter storms rage outside and the fireplace is burning.

Sunflower seeds for our baking of bred, apple jam, pear marmelade and preserved tomatoes. The fabric and cushions made of the September print become a lovely reminder of this rich season all year around.

THE MAKING OF THE PRINTS

The making of the print started with Camilla capturing the essence of the garden in her water colour painting, created on a big paper cavas measuring 2 x 1,5 meters. Then the drawing was interpreted in ink, every single little dot by hand, and translated to screens for Rotary print. It's a technique which is pushing the colour deep into the weave, making it beautifully rich, solid and durable.

WEAVED & PRINTED BY SKILLED MASTERS

The work by our Colour Master and Master Printers, on beautiful Linen weave, gives the motif flow and softness, letting it stay lively and aging with grace.

Colour may vary due to the natural character of the linen fiber and it’s giving our fabrics their uniqueness. All colours are developed and mixed by hand and small variations may occur from the different printing batches due to this craftsmanship.

THE COLOURS

The first colour combinaiton we make is a tribute to our Scandinavian herritage. Swedish yellow and blue inspired by the Island of the Royal Djurgården and the Royal Copper Tents in Hagaparken, finished in 1790 comissioned by King Gustav III.

The colours also mark our love of contrasts, making an interior interesting as well as comfortable.

In the second colourway Ebony/Black the print gets a completely different attitude. With a lovely organic and contemporary feeling, and mixed with our new print Capri, the two adds hominess and contrast to modern homes. Imagine it in an apartment in the city, a villa on Capri, or a small lovely cottage at the island of Swedish Fårö.
